The College Tournaments

The College Tournament was first held during the fifth season (1988-89). Like the Teen and Seniors Tournaments that preceded it, the format is the same: 15 college undergrads competing for $25,000 in a two-week tournament. In 1993 and since, in addition to the cash the winner receives a brand new car. Starting in 2000, the champion's cash winnings increased to $50,000.

Note that the existence of a College Tournament does not forbid college students from participating in the regular games.
