The Teen Tournaments

The Teen Tournament was first held during the third season (1986-87) in February. The format is the same as that of the Tournament of Champions. The participants are 15 teenagers from across the U.S., who were selected from thousands at competitive tryouts in several different locations. The winner of the tournament gets $25,000. Starting with the 1999-2000 Tournament, the winner also receives a brand new car.
